My timing has never been great...

Last night I spent a bunch of time trying to make a nice map of where we ride for the Bike Happening:

I ended up taking a snapshot of the Google Maps page and doctoring it in a drawing program. Most of the Google Maps programs sucked for annotations, so I decided to do it by hand. Came out looking pretty nice too.

And this morning, about 10 hours later, Google Maps rolls out the MyMaps feature that lets you mark up and annotate maps. Visit this link to see the same map marked up in MyMaps. This mark up took less than 5 minutes to do, whereas I spent a couple of hours on the old skool images. Oh well. Thanks for the cool feature Google!
