Alliances in Europe Shift

Spain's newly elected president Mr. Zapatero has harshly spoken out against Bush & Blair shortly after the election results where made public:

Within hours of the election result, Mr Zapatero condemned the Iraq war and its US-led occupation as "disasters".

He said President George Bush and Britain's Prime Minister Tony Blair should engage in "self-criticism" for their mistakes.

Those are strong words for a president who is not even in office yet. Though I welcome the shift -- mainland europe is now once again on the same page with respect to their views of Bush & Co. I'm just hoping this negative crisicism keeps rolling in and gets stronger as we approach the election.
