Conferences
Speaking at ETech 2004
O'Reilly just put up the schedule for the Emerging Technology Conference. And I'm pleased to tell you that I'm on it, giving a talk about "Next Generation File Sharing With Social Software."
The ETech conference has become my metric for measuring other conferences -- most conferences don't have the same caliber of people walking around and giving presentations. ETech is the best place to learn about hot new technologies and it is critical for rounding out my meatspace network. I can't recommend it enough!

So Mayhem --
can we get a quick preview and get you to recommend any of this social software -- specifically an app that'll work on Windows, MacOSX and Linux? They seem to be few and far between. :(
--j. (would love to go to ETech, but getting the time off is impossible)
As far as I know, there are not implementations of this type of file sharing software yet. :-(
Just in the last few weeks I've seen people start to talk about this, so I would expect that it will take quite a while longer before this software is really up to par.
There is always WASTE, but I think anything that comes out of Nullsoft is a WASTE of time.
